Who doesn’t love a cigar party? Cigars and fellowship go together like salt and the sea. It’s a celebration of camaraderie and indulgence. When properly executed, cigar parties become legendary gatherings that linger in memory long after the last ash drops. Here at Belleau Wood cigars, we don’t want to be essential only during your cigar party, we want to be your essential everyday cigar! WHAT’S YOUR CIGAR PARTY THEME?
Here are a few items that we think warrant a celebration: milestone birthdays, a well-deserved promotion, a long-awaited home purchase, or a noble cause to rally behind. There isn’t an all-inclusive list, so any reason you think of will do!
THE VENUE
Will the party be held indoors or outside? Cigar parties can get smoky, so if the event is indoors make sure the location has great ventilation, and filtration if possible. Don’t forget you’ll have plenty of tables, chairs, and ashtrays for your guests. Cigar ashtrays can be expensive, so look into a dozen or so small buckets with a few inches of play sand if you want to save a few bucks. Having a few inexpensive Belleau Wood cutters and lighters on hand will also make for an enjoyable experience for your guests.
WHO TO INVITE?
You’ve identified your theme and date of the party, now who will you invite? Your guest list needs to be comprised of people who know how to have a good time! How will you notify them? Text messaging, phone calls, emails, social media posts, and even snail mail are a few great ways to get the word out.
EATS & DRINKS
Your food and drink choices primarily revolve around the number of cigar smokers in attendance. Will you start with appetizers, then roll into a full smorgasbord, or will hors d’oeuvres suffice? If you’re asking yourself aren’t appetizers and hors d’oeuvres the same? The two are commonly used interchangeably, but they do have a difference. Appetizers are small bites before the main meal and hors d’oeuvres are meal items that can stand on their own. For drinks, a selection of whisky, bourbon, rum, port, or beer will be greatly appreciated by those in attendance. The brass tacks make sure your food and drink selection complements the cigars you’ll be smoking.
